1. Scope
This policy applies to the FS One Android application published by Freelancer Syntax Private Limited and the application programming interfaces used by the app. The company website privacy policy separately covers general website use.
2. Information processed by the app
Depending on the features you use and your relationship with Freelancer Syntax, FS One may process:
- Account and authentication data: email address, password submitted securely for authentication, account name, role, account type, access tokens and refresh tokens.
- Client and service records: profile details, projects, milestones, quotations, invoices, renewals, support tickets and notifications associated with an authorised account.
- Student and Academy data: selected course, student and parent names, date of birth, gender, category, postal address, state, district, PIN code, phone number, email address and a photo selected by the user for registration.
- Enquiries and submissions: demo-request name and phone number, career-application contact details and role information, certificate registration number and date of birth, and support-ticket content.
- Authorised administration data: greeting recipient details, occasion information, schedules and messages entered by authorised administrators.
- Device and technical data: device model, Firebase Cloud Messaging token, notification preference, network status, IP address, request timestamps, security logs and diagnostic information generated when the app communicates with our services.
3. Android permissions and device access
- Internet and network state: used to connect to FS One services and determine network availability.
- Notifications: requested on supported Android versions so signed-in users can receive relevant FS One updates. You may deny or disable this permission in Android settings.
- Selected photo: the Android system picker lets a student choose a specific image for registration. FS One does not request broad access to the photo library.
The current app does not request location, contacts, camera, microphone, SMS or call-log permissions.
4. How information is used
Information is used to authenticate users; provide client and student portals; process registrations, enquiries and certificate verification; manage projects, billing, learning and support; deliver requested communications; send optional notifications; prevent abuse; maintain security; diagnose faults; comply with legal obligations; and improve service reliability.
5. Local storage and security
Release builds communicate with configured services over HTTPS. Authentication tokens stored on the device are encrypted with keys held by Android Keystore. The app may locally store onboarding preference and a limited product cache. Signing out clears the local session, and uninstalling the app removes app-controlled local data subject to Android and backup behaviour.
We use role-based access, authentication controls, restricted administrative functions, server-side validation and operational safeguards. No electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
6. Sharing and service providers
Information may be processed by authorised Freelancer Syntax personnel and service providers that support hosting, email, security, backup and communications. Firebase Cloud Messaging, provided by Google, processes a device registration token and delivery information when push notifications are configured. External links such as maps, email, telephone, Google Play and payment pages operate under their own privacy terms.
We may disclose information when required by law, to protect users or systems, or as part of a properly governed business transaction. We do not sell or rent personal data.
7. Payments
Product payment actions may open FS LedgerOne or an approved external payment page in a secure browser. FS One does not collect or store full payment-card numbers, CVV values or banking credentials inside the Android app.
8. Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant account, enquiry, training, contractual, support, security, dispute or legal purpose. Retention periods vary by record type. When information is no longer required, it is deleted, anonymised or retained only where applicable law requires.
9. Your choices, access and deletion
You may control notifications through Android settings, decline to select a photo unless using a feature that requires it, sign out to clear the local session, and request access, correction or deletion of eligible server-side information.
To request account or data deletion, email support@freelancersyntax.com with the subject FS One Data Deletion Request. Include the account email and enough information for us to verify the request. We will confirm the request, explain any records that must be retained for legal or security reasons, and complete eligible deletion within a reasonable period.
10. Children and students
FS One is not intended for unsupervised use by children under 13. Where a student is a minor, registration and use must be authorised by a parent or lawful guardian, and only information necessary for the applicable Academy service should be provided.
11. International processing
Service providers may process limited information in other jurisdictions. Where this occurs, we evaluate appropriate contractual, organisational and technical safeguards.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when app features, service providers, legal requirements or data practices change. The effective date above identifies the current published version. Material changes will be communicated through the app, website or another appropriate channel.
